I'm not sure how most blogs start out, so maybe this is normal, and maybe it's not. I am writing for me. I figure most people who stumble upon it won't be interested, and while it would be nice if they were, my interest in blogging is purely self-motivated. I have always toyed with the idea of writing as a career, and while I don't think that I'm quite good enough for that, with my current intention of becoming an editor and translator, I think that some writing experience will be good for me, and I am really hoping that I learn to like it and perhaps more importantly, discover that I'm decent at it. In addition, I believe that having a place to record all my thoughts will be helpful, as I have so many ideas I want to remember that even I can't keep them straight (I like to think at least a few of them are profound... or have the potential to be so), and I'd like to be able to look back on them in the future.
In case I ever [miraculously] develop a following, I'd like to explain the way that I title my entries. I get tired of the typical "this is what my post is going to be about" titles, and combined with the fact that my favorite songs titles have nothing to do with the songs themself (see Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, and Green Day), I've decided to format mine in a different way. Each title from this point forward will be a description of something that has impacted me, something that I enjoy, or something that "strikes my fancy", if you will.
